Any man who has to wear a suit and tie to work every day knows that dress shirts can be a big hassle. Inexpensive dress shirts usually don’t fit well, so you must put out some good money to get nice ones that fit well and look great. But then there is the laundering. Who has time to iron these days? To get those sharp looking collars and cuffs, you really have to have them done by a professional. Not only does that cost money, but it cost time. It is also easy to forget. Nearly every man has stopped to buy a new shirt on the way to an event, because they were out of clean and pressed shirts. There is nothing like the nightmare of a speaking engagement or important meeting in an ill-fitting new shirt. Thankfully, Charles Tyrwhitt has come out with a new line of magical non-iron shirts.
Most “non-iron” shirts are made with some sort of tacky looking polyester blend. They usually have a shine that gives away their poor quality. Yet the Tyrwhitt non-iron shirts are made with 100% cotton. What makes them non-iron is how they are stitched and from a special high-heat treatment they give shirts during manufacture.
The result is a shirt that is smooth and soft, that stays that way after it is washed. All you have to do is wash them like any other piece of clothing, then either hang it up to dry, or tumble-dry it on low heat. When it is dry, it will look as crisp and smart as the day you got it.
They come in a variety of weaves and cuts, so you can get styles that look right for your body shape. Once you try them, all other dress shirts will seem ridiculous to own. You won’t ever want a different brand of shirt.
